The President of Kosovo has threatened to resign
MOSCOW, 11 Mar — RIA Novosti. The President of the unrecognized state of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said he will resign if MPs does not approve the bill on the establishment of the army, Reuters reported.
“If members of Parliament do not vote “for” (the bill — ed.), I will step down as President at the same moment”, — quotes Agency the words of Thaci.
Reportedly, he also stressed that “a legislature that will vote to create an army of their own country” should be dissolved.
Last Tuesday, the President of the unrecognized States and the former field commander of the Kosovo Liberation army (KLA), Hashim Thaci has handed over to the Parliament for approval in Pristina a draft law on the transformation of the Kosovo security Force (KSF) into armed forces.
Earlier, the reform was hindered by the boycott of the party of ethnic minorities, “Serbian list”, now the extension of the powers of the ACC, reportedly, will not require changes to the Constitution and the consent of all members. Last Wednesday the presidency of the Kosovo Parliament approved the bill and submitted for approval by the deputies in one of the next meetings.
