Dmitry Peskov
Contacts the Russian Ambassador in Washington Sergei Kislyak with members of the entourage of the presidential candidates of the USA Donald trump and Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election — it’s part of his routine. This is the official representative of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with CNN.
According to him, Kislyak spoke with representatives of the trump “on bilateral relations, spoke about what is happening in the United States, Moscow was more faithful representation”.
Peskov said that those involved as the ambassadors of Russia abroad, and all the heads of diplomatic missions of the USA in the world. “Because the more the Ambassador talks with people in the country of his stay, the better it does its work”, — said the press Secretary of the Russian President.
Leading CNN said that he knew only about contacts Kislyak with the environment trump, but not Clinton. “If you look at some of the people associated with Hillary Clinton during her campaign, you probably know that he had many such meetings”, — said Peskov.
The representative of the Kremlin said that the Ambassador “had no meetings relating to elections, the electoral process”. “No way, this should not be perceived as interference in the elections,” he said.
On 10 March it was reported that lawyers in the US filed a lawsuit against attorney General Jeff and Roman sessions because the Senate Committee of Congress, he hid “relations with the Russian government.” According to the newspaper the Washington Post, in 2016, he twice met with Kislyak and not told about it.
Earlier in March, Peskov said that the hysteria in Washington and the media on the alleged issue of Moscow’s interference in the election campaign harms the relations between the two countries.
The Kremlin’s repeated accusations from the United States on this subject have consistently rejected.
