Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with members of the Russian Security Council the situation in Syria taking into account the negotiations held with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This was reported by press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov on Friday, March 10, reports “Interfax”.
“Internationally there was an exchange of views regarding the Syrian settlement, including taking into account the current negotiations with the Turkish side,” — said the official representative of the Kremlin.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the issues of socio-economic agenda in the country, said Peskov.
In the meeting, in particular, was attended by heads of security agencies, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, special representative of the President on matters of environmental activities, environment and transport, Sergei Ivanov, as well as the speakers of the state Duma and the Federation Council Vyacheslav Volodin and Valentina Matvienko.
Earlier on Friday, Putin held talks with Erdogan. According to their results, the Russian President said that Moscow and Ankara could overcome the problems that emerged after the incident with the downed Russian bomber su-24. He stressed that the intelligence agencies of the two countries have reached a high level of engagement in Syria, which helped to achieve a ceasefire in the region.
