Moskalkova looks forward to working with the Council on human rights UN

Office of the Commissioner for human rights in Russia has high hopes for the use of the opportunities in the field of human rights protection through the interaction with the Council on human rights of the UN and the European network of the Global Alliance of national institutions for the protection of human rights (HENRI), said Russian Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova.

Moskalkova on Monday became a member of GENRE. Then she took part in the 34th session of the UN Council on human rights in Geneva.

“Participation in the 34th session of the UN human rights and the 30th annual meeting of GENRE, as well as membership in the European network of GENRE is a significant step forward in the development of international cooperation. Thanks to the highest accreditation status “A” in the system, GENRE, Commissioner for human rights in the Russian Federation will submit its comments to the reports to the UN Committee on the elimination of racial discrimination; the social, economic and cultural rights; and the rights of the child within involving sessions. Unfortunately and due to unforeseen circumstances, are not able to attend the closing session of HENRI, but our representative continues to participate in this event. —
