Voting in 2018 is to be held on March 11. If this day will work because of the holidays, the election must be deferred to first Sunday in March.

Last week in the state Duma introduced a package of amendments, which provides for the postponement of the presidential elections in the week ahead. The authors of the initiative became the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation Andrey Klishas and a member of the Senate Committee on the Federal structure Anatoly Shirokov.

A source in the Duma, in an interview with RBC confirmed that the lower house of Parliament approves amendments.
