MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. Contractor Artem Gorbunov died March 2 near Palmyra in repelling attempts to break the militant group banned in Russia grouping “Islamic state” (IG) on the positions of Syrian troops, where there were Russian military advisers. This was reported in the defense Ministry.
“Ordinary contract service Artem Gorbunov in the Syrian Arab Republic carried out tasks for the protection of a group of Russian military advisers. Gorbunov died 2 March., near Palmyra in repelling the attempts of a group of militants LIH on the positions of Syrian troops, where there were Russian military advisers,” – said in the message of military Department.
The report also notes that the command of the ordinary Gorbunov submitted to the state award posthumously.
