South Korea convenes the national security Council in connection with a rocket launch in the DPRK

TOKYO, March 6 — RIA Novosti, Ivan Zakharchenko. The government of South Korea convened an emergency national security Council in connection with reports of new missile launches in the DPRK, reported Yonhap from Seoul.

According to the Agency, the decree was given by the acting President of the Republic of Korea Hwang Kyo-Ahn.

The meeting will be attended by heads of ministries of defense and foreign Affairs, intelligence agencies and secretaries of the President on security and foreign policy

Earlier on Monday, the Committee of chiefs of staffs of armed forces of South Korea reported that the DPRK’s 07.36 (01.36 GMT) launched an unknown type missile towards the sea of Japan in the vicinity of the village of Tongani province’s Do.

According to Yonhap news Agency, it is possible that it was a test launch of an Intercontinental ballistic missile KN-08 & KN-14.

The current missile testing in the DPRK, according to Seoul coincided with South Korea’s large-scale us-South Korean military exercises. The General staff of the Korean people’s army warned last week that the DPRK will be forced to retaliate in relation to these maneuvers.

As previously reported, on February 12, Pyongyang conducted a test of a ballistic missile medium-range.
