Vladimir Putin instructed the Prosecutor General to check how to observe the law to toughen penalties for hunting endangered animals, reports TASS.
The President said at the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin. “Because we have proper laws that increased the penalties for killing animals, especially rare, endangered. What happens in practice, in life?” – asked the head of state. He recalled that the law provides for the punishment of “up to criminal prosecution”, and asked whether the law.
Khloponin said that the legislation applied, but noted that since it is “huge territory”, it is possible that the number of employees of Rangers is insufficient to implement the law fully.
