In the United States suspected RISS in developing a strategy for the “interference” of the Russian Federation in elections

MOSCOW, 20 APR — RIA Novosti. Us officials, whose names were not called, claim that at the disposal of US intelligence were two “document” the Russian Institute of strategic studies (RISS), which allegedly show that Russia tried to interfere in elections in the United States.

According to Reuters, at the disposal of the officials were two of the “document” Russian Institute of studying which U.S. intelligence has concluded that Russia was trying to “actively intervene” in the American elections.

So, in the publication of the Agency’s claimed that in one of the “documents” Institute allegedly encouraged the use of social networks and the Russian state media, to get American voters to take a softer stance towards Russia than conducted the course of the administration of Barack Obama, who was at that time President of the United States.

The Agency is also citing sources, reported that the second “document” allegedly argued about the big chances of winning Hillary Clinton than Donald trump. On this basis, according to Reuters, in the “document” allegedly advised to stop supporting the latter and focus on the introduction of news about fraud with intent to harm the reputation of a potential President Clinton.

When this unnamed Agency sources claim that these “documents” circulating in the “highest circles” by the Russian government, but this statement also gives no evidence. Sources of Reuters claim that the presence of these “documents” was the decisive argument for the Obama administration, accusing Russia in spreading fake news and meddling in the election.

In October 2016 the official representatives of the US intelligence community said that the attacks on the electoral systems of the country were Russian hackers who allegedly acted on the orders of the Russian leadership.

At the end of December the administration of President Barack Obama imposed sanctions against nine Russian institutions, companies and individuals, including against the GRU and the FSB, for “meddling in the election” and “the pressure on us diplomats” working in Russia. At the same time in the U.S. Senate has announced its intention to conduct its own investigation on the matter. However, no evidence of Russia’s involvement in hacking attacks with the aim of influencing the result of the presidential election, the U.S. government never filed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking about these accusations, declared that in the published data there is nothing in the interests of Russia, and hysteria-mongering to distract from their content. In turn, commenting on the statements by Hillary Clinton about the alleged Russian interference in the election campaign, press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov called allegations against Moscow “completely unfounded”. According to him, such statements based on nothing, no facts were not given.

Currently the Director of the Russian Institute for strategic studies (RISS) is Mikhail Fradkov, former head of the foreign intelligence Service. He was succeeded by Leonid Reshetnikov. RISS is a large research and analytical centre established by the President. The main task of the Institute — information support of administration of the Kremlin, Parliament, the Security Council, the government office, ministries and agencies. RISS provides for them an expert assessment and recommendations, also prepares information and analytical materials.
