Former adviser to US President Donald trump Carter page called “absolutely false” to alleged U.S. intelligence evidence that he is a Russian agent, according to the publication the Washington Times.
“The errors are so ridiculous and funny that I just have no words. It’s so wild that it’s just amazing,” the newspaper quoted the page on the evidence that he acted on behalf of Moscow.
The New York Times, citing an unnamed government official said that the U.S. Department of justice received last year a secret warrant from a court to wiretap Carter Paige, a former Advisor to Donald trump on the basis of alleged evidence that he is a Russian agent.
Earlier, media published an article that Paige is in the past allegedly had contacts with representatives of Russian intelligence, the events that allegedly occurred back in 2013, when trump was not going to run for President, and Paige was not his Advisor. In the three years prior to that, he worked as a consultant in the field of energy. As such, as the media wrote, he tried to recruit “Russian spies”.
The publication was one of the last in a series of media reports about the alleged links of the trump with the “Russian intelligence” or “Russian representatives” before the presidential elections. All this has led to the beginning of the investigation, which lead in the Senate and in the house of representatives of the United States.
Russia has repeatedly denied accusations of U.S. intelligence in trying to influence U.S. elections. Leaks in the media that the representatives of the election headquarters of Donald trump spoke with representatives of the Russian intelligence service, the Kremlin also called not based on facts. Denies them, and the White house, and the trump, calling such reports “a witch hunt” and politically motivated actions of his opponents in response to the defeat in the elections.
