CAIRO, 18 APR — news, Margarita Kislova. The police of Egypt inspects the surroundings of monastery of Sant Catherine in the South Sinai Peninsula, where on Tuesday the shooting happened at a police checkpoint, according to news portal “Youm7”, citing police sources.
Earlier media reported that at a checkpoint at the monastery of Saint Catherine had been an armed attack, one policeman was killed and four wounded. Later on the portal “al-Masri al-Yaum” with reference to the statement of the head of the security Directorate of South Sinai reported that the fire was mistakenly opened by one of the officers.
