The distribution of presidential grants, NGOs will engage experts from private foundations

The Advisory Council of the new presidential grants will be invited to become heads of major private foundations, told “Vedomosti” a source in the presidential administration and was confirmed by the General Director of Fund Ilya Chukalin. “The Advisory Council were discussed at the coordination Committee, any consent is not obtained, this week we will send them an invitation. The Council must start work by 31 may,” explains Chukalin. In 2017, the presidential grants will hold two competitions, the first will begin April 17.

The coordinating Committee of the Fund will be engaged in the strategy, and expert advice — operational management: it should consist of 24 people, they will pick experts for 12 grant directions and to evaluate applications for the competition. The Fund promised that the funds will be allocated flexibly with the total amount of support for each area depends on the number and quality of applications and not pre fixed. The source in the presidential administration said that special attention will be given to online projects, and hopes that the new format will allow participation by applicants from the most remote areas. The Fund will also be created special conditions for small projects requesting a grant of up to 500,000 rubles, such as the possibility of participation of organizations established for six months prior to the competition.
