Deputy foreign Minister of Russia has approved the performance Safrankova in the UN security Council

Sergei Ryabkov

Deputy foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov said that he understands the highly emotional statements by the Deputy permanent representative of the country at the UN, Vladimir Safronkov. About it reports on Friday, April 14, TASS reported.

“It is strange to hear this [accusation in acrimony] from our Western colleagues, who from year to year is an exercise in insulting the statements addressed to Russia,” — said the diplomat. According to Ryabkov, “there comes a time when you need to send a serious emotional signal, or out of political indoctrination of those who sit with us at the table in the hall of the security Council or of the Executive Council of the OPCW, the display just does not work”.

The diplomat added that Safronkov “said exactly what was required in this situation.” Ryabkov assured the Deputy permanent representative “can dose the degree of diplomatic courtesy depending on the situation.”

“Imagine a situation that we would continue the conversation in the genre of “Your Excellency, filled with respect for You would devote Your precious time that You listened to our position…” What will be the effect? The only one that these “Excellencies” will finally believe in their superiority over everyone because, using sayings, they are all “how about a wall peas.” It’s like some kind of a limit to everything,” said Ryabkov.

Earlier, the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov called the tone of speech Safrankova appropriate and said that nothing offensive was said. “The manifestation of the softness then in the future is fraught with dire consequences,” he explained.

April 12, the Russian diplomat responded sharply to the statement by the representative of the United Kingdom Matthew Rycroft that Russia abuses its veto. Safronkov accused the British that he “only thinks” that complicate efforts to find a political settlement in Syria and to bring to the security Council confrontation and hostility.
