Britain accused Russia of “abuse of veto” in the UN Security Council.
“Russia repeatedly abusing the veto power also protects the regime (of Syrian authorities — ed.) and the use of chemical weapons,” — said at a meeting of the UN security Council, the permanent representative of the Kingdom Matthew Rycroft.
In the past, Russia has repeatedly rejected accusations of misuse of the veto and urged to investigate allegations of use of chemical weapons in Syria.
UK, USA and France on Wednesday tabled a UN security Council draft resolution on Syria. The vote is scheduled for 22.00 GMT.
