CNN: Pentagon chief will invite Trump to strike with cruise missiles at Syria

Pentagon chief James Mattis will propose to the President of the United States Donald Trump to strike with cruise missiles on Syria with U.S. Navy ships in response to the alleged chemical attack in Idlib province. “Mattis would tell Trump in Florida about some of the options (retaliation — approx. TASS), one of which is a strike with cruise missiles from Navy ships,” said a leading TV channel.
Trump will hold in his estate “Mar-a-Lago” (Florida) two-day summit with President XI Jinping.
According to the broadcaster, the President said several members of the us Congress that it is considering military action against Damascus. Trump said that has not taken a final decision yet and is discussing possible options with Mattis. “Trump is relying on the opinion of Mattis,” notes CNN.
Sources also said that the Pentagon has the necessary capabilities to strike on the Syrian Arsenal of chemical weapons and provided relevant information to the President. The channel stressed that no decision in this regard has yet been made.
On Tuesday, the Agency Reuters with reference to “Syrian monitoring centre for human rights” (The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights) reported that in the city of Khan shaykhun in the Syrian province of Idlib as a result of the impact of the Syrian or Russian aircraft killed 58 people, including 11 children.
