10 Russian universities entered the top 500 in the world
In the top-500 Round University ranking this year included 10 Russian universities. On average, they improved their results by 30 positions.

The best results showed the MSU named after M. V. Lomonosov (145), NRNU “MEPhI” (231-e), Tomsk state University (256-e) and MIPT (294-e). Also in the top 500 was Novosibirsk state University, Saint Petersburg state University, Tomsk Polytechnic, Russian peoples friendship University, ITMO University and Nizhny Novgorod state University named N. N. Lobachevsky.
In addition, 12 universities are in the top 200 in the quality of education, including Moscow state University named after M. V. Lomonosov (the 42nd place), Tomsk state University (72) and PFUR (85).
The ranking is led by Harvard University, California Institute of technology (Caltech), the University of Chicago and Imperial College in London. Overall, the largest number of universities in the rating were the United States (140 universities), followed by China (along with Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau — 81 University). Also among the leaders — UK (77 universities) and Japan (40 universities).
Round University Ranking is an international ranking of universities, which produces the Rating Agency RUR since 2010. It includes universities in 80 countries. Universities are assessed according to 20 parameters within four areas: quality of teaching (40% of assessment), research quality (40%), internationalization (10%) and financial sustainability (10%). In addition, 30 ratings compiled by subject area.
