Lenin Moreno wins the election for President of Ecuador
RIO DE JANEIRO, April 3. /Offset. TASS Darya Yuryeva/. The candidate of the ruling left bloc “Alliance Country” (“Alianza paĆs”), former Vice President Lenin Moreno received the largest number of votes in the second round of the presidential election in Ecuador.
This is evidenced by the first official results released by the National electoral Council (NEC) of the South American country.
According to preliminary data obtained after processing 92,35% of the ballots, Moreno enlisted the support of 51,05% of the voters. His opponent, the representative of the center-right Movement CREO, a former banker Guillermo Lasso has received 48.95% of the vote.
