MOSCOW, 1 Jul — RIA Novosti. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov called populist contained in the publications FBK Alexei Navalny allegations of corruption in Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, explaining that the declarations of civil servants are audited annually, and the income information transparent to the authorities responsible for the fight against corruption.
“All of us, as bureaucrats, as the people who work for the government, every year, submit returns of income and expenditure in the special bodies that check and double-check these declarations. Therefore, all our, shall we say, the income is actually very transparent to those authorities who require this information and which are responsible for the fight against corruption in our country”, — said Peskov in interview to TV channel ABC at the request of the journalist to comment on the publication of the FCO about the Prime Minister.
Peskov acknowledged that fighting corruption is a problem. “This is one of the main items on the agenda in our country. Society is absolutely intolerant of it. That’s why a week ago, we saw protests in different cities of our country,” — said Peskov.
“In some cities they were held in accordance with the law. In some places, like in Moscow, they were illegal. They didn’t notify the mayor’s office in accordance with the law. That is why the protests in Moscow was illegal. Of course, this was the reason for the detention of people involved in these illegal actions. It is common practice for any country, and we see a lot of action and detentions, so to speak, retaliatory actions of the police in many world capitals”, — said Peskov.
Navalny posted on his YouTube channel in the film, which talks about what the Russian Prime Minister with the help of non-profit funds allegedly acquired a variety of assets. Medvedev’s press Secretary Natalya Timakova said that does not make sense to comment on the “investigation” team Bulk against Medvedev.
