Roskomnadzor denies plans to spend 20 billion rubles on the technology lock Telegram
The head of Roskomnadzor Alexander Zharov has not confirmed that the Agency had intended to spend 20 billion rubles for the introduction of new technology locks Telegram messenger. Informed on plans of Roskomnadzor sources said the Russian service Bi-bi-si.
“Roskomnadzor appealed to the Ministry of Finance for 20 billion rubles, no different amount on some program. Anything mentioned in the material Bi-Bi-si, we do,” said Mr. Zharov in an interview with TASS.
He noted that Roskomnadzor continues to work on improving the system of locks. “We definitely are working on approaches to effective, point content blocking not only websites, but applications. Because it may be required, including in an emergency. But to say that such a decision is ready, this particular development will be applied, and it is worth so many rubles — before”, — said the head of Roskomnadzor.
The Agency began to block Telegram of April 16 due to failure of the messenger to provide the FSB encryption keys correspondence. Now access forbidden websites blocked by IP address, from-for what suffer outside resources. So, in the spring of 2018 Roskomnadzor has blocked about 11 million IP addresses, some of which used online shopping, logistic companies and media.
