For the first time about Ciudad Perdida, scientists have learned in the 70-ies of XX century, when the local markets began to receive Golden statues and ancient ceramics. The local authorities started investigation and found out that the lost city of “black archeologists” discovered in 1972 and started to sell found there of value. But according to residents of nearby villages, they knew about the existence of Ciudad Perdida, because there is “buried their ancestors”. But they kept this information secret from the white people.

When got here the archaeologists, the city was completely plundered. Only ruins of ancient buildings and terraces in the mountains. Especially the city is not restored — the locals were against it, but because the Ciudad Perdida now looks deserted and mysterious.

An ancient settlement hidden in the dense jungle to get to Ciudad-Perdida, you need to overcome the 1200 steps of stone stairs. The city itself consists of squares and cobbled roads, as well as 169 agricultural terraces in the form of wide layers on top of a cliff.
