An amazing place called the plain of jars still remains a mystery. 60 sites, scattered at the foot lie the Annam mountain range in Lao province of Xiangkhoang on the border with Vietnam, there are thousands of large stone pots, the purpose of which is unclear.

On the plain of jars is generally little information. It is only known that the first investigations conducted in the 1930-ies, when in the valley found a cave with graves and ashes.

Then in the 1970-ies there was carried out a massive bombing of the U.S. air force. Because of the huge number of unexploded ordnance authorities shut down most of the sites with the jugs and for safety purposes banned here archaeological research.
