Found a new fragment of the Berlin wall

A previously unknown piece of the Berlin wall was discovered in the summer of 2018 in a residential area North-West of Berlin.

The Berlin wall served as a fortified state border of the German Democratic Republic on 13 August 1961 to 9 November 1989. It divided the Western and Eastern part of the city, and separated West Berlin from the GDR. The total length of the wall was 155 km.
In 2010 in Berlin was inaugurated a memorial complex dedicated to the Berlin wall. The date of construction of the wall is traditionally celebrated in Germany politicians visiting the memorial in memory of those killed trying to get from East Berlin to West Berlin.
