Solved the problem of “black smoke” from pipes “Admiral Kuznetsov”
Modernization of combustion system, nozzle part and energy management will allow to solve the problem “black smoke” from the chimneys of the only Russian aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov”, said TASS, the scientific Director of Krylov state scientific center Valery Polovinkin.
According to him, currently, “the initiative Krylovskiy center conducts relevant research”. “We know, figuratively speaking, the weaknesses of this ship, and will offer fleet solutions for their modernization. We are talking primarily about energy. Review problems not only of economy but also ecology,” said Polovinkin.
The expert noted that the problem with the “black smoke” from pipes “Admiral Kuznetsov” will solve the modernization of the system of combustion, the nozzle part and energy management. “As for the famous asbestos, which covered the boilers of the ship, there is a way out. We have created eco-friendly polymeric materials, resistant to high temperatures, which are not prohibited by the international community. I stress that we will never offer untested solutions,” — said Polovinkin.
Scientific head of Krylovsky center believes that Russia needs at least four aircraft carrier (two on the Northern and Pacific fleets).
Polovinkin believes that such ships should have a displacement of from 60 to 100 thousand tons, and also to a nuclear power plant and electromagnetic catapults. The expert considers a dead-end construction of small aircraft carriers.
“The technological capabilities of Russian factories allow us to solve any task. But from my point of view, before 2030-35 year, the new aircraft carrier will not be built. Its construction under favorable conditions it will take at least a decade, if not delay the funding and supply of equipment and components,” said Polovinkin.
The expert also spoke about what it meant to be the submarine of the future. According to him, requires that submarines of the “magnetic, electric and acoustic fields were minimal.”
Polovinkin believes that after 2025 the hull of the submarines will be formed of the bimetals, metal-polymeric constructions or composite materials.
“Boat of the future should be invisible, almost uninhabited, with limited crew, or better yet — unmanned. She will be able to use their weapons not at the actual location, and at a distance, using a mobile starting position”, — the expert concludes.
