The Queen of England have banned plastic utensils in their residences

Elizabeth II personally became interested in the problem of pollution of plastic after a documentary of naturalist David Attenborough.

Residence of Queen Elizabeth II of England and Scotland will switch to the new waste management system, reducing use of plastic. The new measures include phasing out the use of plastic straws and bottles in a public cafe, located on the territories of the Buckingham Palace and Windsor castle in England and Holyrood Palace in Scotland, and a complete ban on the use of plastic in the cafeterias personnel.

Takeaway will only be packaged in compostable and biodegradable materials. Suppliers power will be allowed to use recyclable paper plates and cups.

According to The Telegraph, the Royal family determined to reduce the influence of their possessions on the environment. “As part of the adopted commitments we have taken a number of steps to reduce the amount of plastic. At all levels there is a strong desire to deal with the problem”, — said the representative of Buckingham Palace.
