MOSCOW, 27 Jun — RIA Novosti. The Russian Central election Commission has accepted documents of the current President of Russia Vladimir Putin for nomination as a candidate for the presidential election in March 2018.
Putin goes on elections as the independent candidate. The day before, December 26, initiative group of voters, which included more than 600 people voted for his nomination in the upcoming elections. On Wednesday, Putin personally presented to the CEC the documents for nomination.
The package of documents submitted to the CEC by the independent candidate, must contain a request for registration of the initiative group, a statement of consent to run, proof of biographical data, and also data on incomes and expenditures, accounts, deposits and securities.

At the stage of registration of self-nominated to collect signatures of voters in its support is no less than 300 thousand, and for one region must not be more than 7.5 thousand signatures.
At the annual press conference in mid-December, Putin said that going into 2018 elections as the independent candidate, but counts on the support of political parties and public organizations.
The next presidential elections will be held on March 18, 2018, the election campaign officially started on 18 December.
