“The concept of human dignity is the cornerstone of modern secular, philosophical Outlook on life. Precisely because it follows the theory of human rights: every person has dignity, and with it the rights”, — said the Patriarch.
“But this secular view of dignity, nothing linked this concept with a conscience,” he said.
“So what we see now: people are rushing to achieve the benefits of this world, very often violate their moral dignity” — said the Patriarch.
In his opinion, this is the growth of crime and “cynicism in behavior that is so common in our lives”, and even “terrible manifestation of the inner beast in man, when he kills the innocent”.
“How many need to undergo testing by wars, acts of terrorism, to realise the simple truth — may not be to the honor and dignity without the relations of these concepts with the voice of human conscience”, — concluded the Patriarch.
