#NoRussiaNoGames: Depardieu has played for Russia’s participation in the winter Olympics

MOSCOW, 5 Dec — RIA Novosti. French actor Gerard Depardieu joined #NoRussiaNoGames against the removal of the Russian team from participation in the Olympic winter games 2018 in Pyeongchang.

On his page in Facebook Depardieu has published a picture where he is holding a sheet with the hashtag #NoRussiaNoGames, which translates as “without Russia, no Games.”

The initiator of the movement against the suspension of Russian athletes from the winter Olympics became a student of Saint-Petersburg Roman Starkov. On his page in social network “Vkontakte”, he posted an appeal, which voted against a life suspension of six skiers from participating in the Olympic games. Then there was also community support of the entire team.

In stock #NoRussiaNoGames was attended by many representatives of the Russian sports and show business. The movement was supported by presenter Dmitry Guberniev, the silver medalist of the Olympic games 2002 in figure skating Ilya Averbukh, four-time Olympic champion in gymnastics Alexey Nemov, singer Anita Tsoy, Zara, TV presenter Olga Buzova and Ksenia Borodina.

The Executive Committee of the IOC must make a decision about the participation of Russian sportsmen in the Olympic games in Pyeongchang on 5 December.
