The inhabitants of Kamchatka and Chukotka celebrate the New year
Residents of the Eastern regions of Russia first celebrated the New year on Kamchatka and Chukotka, he begins nine hours earlier than in Moscow.
At 15:00 MSK in these regions has come 2019. Traditionally, a met him coming home, and then took to the squares and streets to celebrate Christmas festivities.
“First we celebrate at home, make a wish under the chiming clock, and then we leave the square,” reported 31 December TASS in the government of the Chukotka Autonomous district. In the administrative center of Chukotka Autonomous Okrug Anadyr festivities will take place on the Central square, residents of Chukotka will congratulate father frost and the snow maiden will dance and singing competitions.
In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on the main tree of the Kamchatka Peninsula on the area of Lenin the animators, but the main celebrations will begin on the evening of 1 January. Citizens will congratulate the authorities, the Grandfather frost and the snow maiden. After that, the city will light up the new year’s fireworks 1.5 thousand volleys.
Before 31 December it was reported that the Moscow metro has installed a scoreboard countdown to the New year. After midnight it will appear the text “happy New year!”.
