Glass Bay — one of the main attractions of Vladivostok. A small area of Ussuri Bay got its name from the coast, strewn with shards of glass and porcelain. But it’s not just broken glass — before you get to the beach, sea a long time it was refined, turning into colored stones perfect shape.
How did the glass shore, no one really knows, but all the versions boil down to the fact that here were brought the garbage from the city and waste from local porcelain factory.
Until 2011, the Bay had not the best reputation: people called it “the glass”, and it was considered a city dump. But over time everything changed: the trash disposed of, and the coast cleared. It is now one of the favorite places of locals and tourists who sometimes take colored pieces of glass with them as a souvenir.
Glittering “mosaic” the coast is framed by rocks with bizarre shapes, resembling volcanic lava. And this is another distinguishing feature of this place.
Glass Bay is a unique place where human irresponsibility still could not prevent nature, and they now exist in harmony. By the way such places in the world only two: one in Primorye, the other in California.
