Russia submitted to the UN General Assembly draft resolution on the preservation of the INF Treaty

UN, 15 Dec — RIA Novosti. Russia introduced on Friday, December 14 for consideration of the UN General Assembly a draft resolution on the preservation of the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate and short range, said the press Secretary of the Russian permanent representative to the UN, Feodor Strzygowski.

According to the diplomat, the draft resolution calls on all parties to comply with obligations under the INF Treaty and to resolve any issues with the help provided in the contract arrangements.

Russia, as noted Strzygowski, attaches high importance to preserving the INF Treaty, “the termination of which could seriously undermine international mechanisms for nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction arms control”.

The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova in response to the word Pompeo said that Moscow is strictly implementing the agreement.
