The guard Yury Petrov, who fled from his post in Murom with a gun, died in a Moscow hospital. He was taken to the hospital with two gunshot wounds to the chest, but doctors were unable to save the man. About it reports “Interfax” with reference to the press service of the TFR.

According to “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, after escaping from a railway facility where he worked, Petrov broke into the house of a rich man in the village of Vysokovo, stole 800 thousand rubles and disappeared into the woods. Later in conversation with journalists on the phone, the man claimed that he didn’t take money. He explained that he had run away because of financial problems.
Shortly before the incident, the publication adds, Petrov’s wife had surgery. He himself, according to relatives, was fond of card games, because of debts he had to sell two apartments. The guard confirmed this in a telephone conversation with the correspondent of “Komsomolskaya Pravda”. To the question: “Why did you run away?” the man replied, “Gambling and debt”. He added that he owed about half a million rubles.
The investigation is ongoing. The investigators establish all the circumstances of the incident.
