“This is an absolutely absurd statement. Another attempt in some way to provoke tension,” said Sands, answering a corresponding question of journalists.

According to him, such statements are directly connected with the upcoming presidential elections in Ukraine. “It is clear that, most likely, such attempts, unfortunately, will continue as elections approach in Ukraine”, — said the press Secretary of the head of state.

Referring to statements Poroshenko about the desire of Moscow to seize Ukraine, Peskov said: “Russia never seized and no corridors will not paved. Therefore, it is absolutely a baseless statement blaming Russia for something.”

Yesterday, in an interview with the German Funke Media Group Poroshenko said that the situation with the conflict in the Donbass depends on Russia. “Everything depends on Russia — a country that is a hybrid war against Ukraine. Our country has never provoked any military escalation. We did not come uninvited with tanks and machine guns, and Russian. It is not Ukraine stole part of the sovereign territory of another state, and Russia”, — said the Ukrainian President.

Poroshenko also said that “Moscow is trying to land corridor from the occupied Donbass in the occupied Crimea by capturing Mariupol and Berdyansk”.
