Gorbachev noted the contribution of President Bush in ending the cold war
Moscow. 1 Dec. INTERFAX.RU — Former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev expressed his deep condolences in connection with death of 41-US President George Bush.

“I deeply condole with the family of George Bush and all Americans in the demise of the 41st President of the United States,” he said an interview to “Interfax”.
A lot of memories I have with that person. We had a chance to work together in the years of great change. It was a dramatic time, demanded from all a huge responsibility. The result was the end of the cold war and the nuclear arms race.
“I commend the contributions of George Bush in this historic achievement. He was a real partner,” he said.
“Raisa Maksimovna was very appreciated the attention, friendliness and ease of communication, characteristic of the George and Barbara Bush, for all their large and friendly family”, — said Gorbachev.
He is sure that “the memory of George Bush politics and the people — will endure in the hearts of many people.”
As previously reported, former US President George Bush senior died at the age of 94 in Houston.
