United Russia Vyacheslav Shport was the head of Khabarovsk Krai for more than nine years. In April 2009, by presidential decree he was appointed acting Governor of the region. In may of the same year, the deputies of the Khabarovsk territory has given Shport powers of the head region.
Furgal is a member of the Duma of the LDPR faction, first Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on health protection. He graduated from Blagoveshchensk state medical Institute in 1992 and the Russian Academy of state service under the President in 2010
According to information on the website of the election headquarters Furgala was born in 1970 in the Amur region. After graduating from medical school he worked in Parkowski Central regional hospital physician and neurologist. In the late 1990s began to do business.
In 2005, Furgal was elected Deputy of the legislative Duma of Khabarovsk Krai from the liberal democratic party, in the same year he became coordinator of the regional branch of the party.
