Worst place: how does the island of the haunted Pavela (photo)
His reputation is not very good.
There are a lot of scary and mysterious places. Some of them created by nature, and some of the handiwork of man. One of such strange and unwelcoming places — the Italian island Powella, which is located in the Venetian lagoon.
He is considered one of the most favorite places of dwelling of ghosts. The stories and legends, then they simply do not count.

His notoriety Powella got an ulterior motive.
In the XVIII century the island was built a Church and a hospital and began to bring the sick with plague. Rumored to have died from this terrible disease, there were about 160 thousand.
In 1814 the hospital was closed and all the buildings on the island Powella were used only as weapons depots.
But in 1922, the abandoned hospital building was restored and converted into a psychiatric clinic. Because of the remoteness of this place, the hospital doctors began to put on patients experiments. The dead were buried in mass graves. In the end, the chief himself went mad and killed himself. In 1968 the hospital was closed and the island abandoned.
Some brave souls tried several times to buy Pauwels, but after the tragic and unexplained cases fled in fear from there. Rumor has it that the island is haunted, that revenge all visitors for their terrible death.
However, the Italian authorities do not give up: they took up the restoration of local buildings and plan to take the island for rent.
