DAMASCUS, 25 Jul — RIA Novosti. The number of victims in the Syrian city of as-Suwayda has increased to 100 people, reported RIA Novosti a source in the local police.
“The number of victims of the explosion and attacks in es-Sweida and its suburbs has risen to 100 people, 176 wounded,” — said the Agency interlocutor.
Earlier it was reported about 50 dead and 78 wounded.
On Wednesday morning, a few bombers carried out the attack in the city of as-Suwayda. One of them detonated an explosive device at a vegetable market in the city. Another one was caught by a local resident, but the militants blew himself up.
Detachments of the terrorist group “Islamic state”* also attacked several villages in the East of the province, but were rebuffed by the army and local residents.
The Ministry of foreign Affairs condemned the attack. “We Express our condolences to the bereaved families and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” — said in a statement.
It also noted that against the background of successes of the Syrian government forces acting with the support of the Russian space forces, the terrorists feel the imminence of defeat and resorted to violence against civilians.
