In Russia will change the rules on antibiotics in milk and meat

Requirements for the content of antibiotics in food will be changed.

As told in an interview to “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” the head of Roskoshestvo Maxim Protasov, last year approved the additional monitoring of the Rosselkhoznadzor, because research has identified content of antibiotics in honey.

In addition, testing of food products has highlighted another problem: there are a number of antibiotics that are standardized in Europe, and in Russia — no. Thus, by using them, manufacturers do not formally violate the requirements of laws and regulations.

“If we talk about the antibiotics in Europe are described, and in Russia — not, proposals for their regulation in our country are already under consideration in the EEC to be submitted to the technical regulations for food products. We proposed to normalize them for meat products, dairy, honey,” said Maxim Protasov.
