The first full meeting of the presidents of Russia and USA Vladimir Putin and Donald trump on the 16th of July in Helsinki.
“The ideal outcome of the summit is if we could agree to use all the channels on issues where we have differences, to understand if we can find common ground on these issues and also to identify the problems, the solution of which we can usefully co-operate in the interests of both countries and the international community, for the sake of strategic stability,” Lavrov said.

“We also have a channel on Ukraine: Putin’s aide and special envoy of the United States (Kurt Volker — ed.) have met several times, but without visible progress, because at each meeting, our American colleagues deviate from the Minsk agreements, which are an expression of the consolidated opinion on the Ukrainian crisis. However, we continue trying, and I hope we will discuss this issue in Helsinki,” — said Lavrov.
