Ukraine will not be able to go to the Junior Eurovision song contest-2018 due to lack of money

KYIV, 9 Jul — RIA Novosti. This year Ukraine will not be able to participate in the international children’s song contest the Eurovision song contest due to critical under-funding, according to the website of the National public broadcasting company.

“Participation in Junior Eurovision involves a significant expense of television on the conduct of the qualifying stage and also a compulsory contribution to the European broadcasting Union (the contest organizer) for participation in the competition”, — stated in the message. It is noted that in this year of NOTE for the first time will not be able to cover these costs.

It is indicated that in 2018 for television and radio provided only 776 million hryvnia (about $ 39 million) budget funds do not cover current operating expenses.

Junior Eurovision will be held in Minsk in November. In 2017, won the Russian singer Polina Bogussevich song “Wings”.
