The Ministry of health called the main habits of centenarians

The chief geriatrician of the Ministry of health, Director of the Russian gerontological scientific clinical center Olga Tkachev called the habits that unite the majority of centenarians.

MOSCOW, 7 Feb — RIA Novosti. According to her, the longevity about 80 percent is due to lifestyle and 20% genetics. Generally, centenarians do not abuse alcohol and do not smoke.

“They are physically quite active, socially adapted already in advanced age. After retirement, continue to actively communicate, often continue to work, are engaged in some public activities,” — said Tkachev in an interview with RT.

These people eat a lot of vegetables and fruits, as well as intense intellectual activity, the doctor added.

“The more a person’s cognitive functioning, the more he lives and the more saved, more healthy,” — said Tkachev.
