In Transnistria responded to the initiative to withdraw Russian troops
TIRASPOL, June 16 — RIA Novosti. No decision on the withdrawal of Russian troops from Transnistria can not be taken without considering the opinion of Tiraspol, said the foreign Minister of the unrecognized Republic Vitaly Ignatiev.
On the eve Minister of foreign Affairs and European integration of Moldova Tudor Ulyanovsk said that the UN Secretariat registered the draft resolution on the withdrawal of Russian troops from Transnistria, which will consider on June 22.
“No decisions about changing the format of peacekeeping operation or removal of any part of this peacekeeping mechanism can not be taken without considering the opinions and position of the people of Transnistria. We are categorically against any actions that threaten peace and security on the Dniester”, — said the Chairman of the TV channel “First Pridnestrovian”.
He stressed that on the territory of Transnistria, in addition to the peacekeeping force, no military presence of Russia.
“Therefore, any attempt to declare that Moldova supports the peacekeeping operation, but insists on the withdrawal of the operational group of Russian forces, just biased. Ogrf is part of the functioning of a single mechanism for peacekeeping operations, and participates in the rotation of the peacekeeping battalions”, — said the Minister.
On the territory of the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan Republic located the operational group of Russian forces (ogrf), which is the successor of the 14th combined arms army which after disintegration of the USSR was transferred under the jurisdiction of Russia. The main objectives of the task force — a peacekeeping mission and the protection of warehouses with ammunition.
