The estimated losses of the Russians from raising the retirement age
For every six months delay in the retirement age Russians will lose an average of 82.2 thousand rubles.
Raising the retirement age, even for six months a year would lead to deterioration in the material situation of Russians who were supposed to be retired, but due to the increase in the retirement age will not become established. This is stated in the report of the Deputy head of the research Institute current Economics (IAE) Ivan Antropov, a copy of which is at the disposal “of the Tape.ru”.
The authors of the report, for every six months delay in the retirement age Russians will lose an average of 82.2 thousand rubles. This amount is the sum of the monthly pension, according to Rosstat, it is 13.7 thousand multiplied by six months — a period of state support, which potential pensioners will be denied.
If the retirement age increases by five years, the personal loss of every Russian will average 822 thousand rubles (provided that the average pension will remain at the level of 13.7 thousand).
According to the Institute, for the year to retire up to two million people. “Thus, in the case of a decision on increasing the retirement age by 0.5 years for every year for 10 years, for the economy it means a reduction of income of about 41,1 billion rubles only in the first year of implementation of the program,” the report said.
In addition to direct monetary losses, analysts of the Institute talk about the problems in the labour market, as due to the increase of the retirement age people will be late to leave work, and that means new jobs will appear later, affecting the youth. For working pensioners, according to Rosstat, at the moment accounts for 34.5 percent of all Russian workers.
IAE experts recognize that raising the retirement age is necessary, however, to carry out such large-scale change of the pension system is necessary when stringent conditions, among them: the Russian economy for at least three years behind the average world GDP more than 1 percentage point, the age of survival for men must be at least 19 years of age and in women at least 22 years. Only after achieving these conditions, the IAE experts encourages the authorities to raise the retirement age at a rate of six months per year.
