Moscow. May 1. INTERFAX.RU — the Russian Embassy in the USA reported that the residence of the Consul General of Russia in Seattle “today, under the cover of night” the American authorities had removed the state flag of the Russian Federation.
“These illegal actions cannot but be viewed as unacceptable in relation to the Russian state symbol and another example of the gross violations of the Washington rules of international law”, — stated in the message of the Embassy in Facebook.
The Embassy noted that “the residence of the Consul General is property of the Russian Federation and it is inviolable”.
“In this regard we demand the immediate return of our national flag to its rightful place — the flagpole above the building. As well as to return all illegally seized the Russian departmenet in the cities of Washington, San Francisco, Seattle, Maryland and new York,” — said in the message.
The administration of US President took the decision to close the Consulate General of Russia in Seattle and send dozens of Russian diplomats after the poisoning in the British Salisbury, the former Russian spy Sergei Skripal.
According to British authorities, Russia is directly involved in this event, and the U.S. his step expressed solidarity with the allies.
