Trump has criticized Russia’s actions against civilians in Syria
The head of the White house assured that the U.S. is in the Republic for the sole purpose of combating terrorist group “Islamic state”.
WASHINGTON, February 23. /TASS/. Russia’s actions against the civilian population of Syria deserve condemnation. This opinion was expressed on Friday at a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Australia Malcolm Turnbull in Washington, U.S. President Donald trump, when asked to comment on the situation in Eastern ghouta.

“But the fact that these three countries do to people for the last a short time — it’s a shame,” said the occupant of the White house.
However, he assured that the U.S. is in Syria only to fight against the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG, which is banned in Russia). “We are there for one reason — to get rid of ISIS and return home. We are not there for any other reason. Overall, we have achieved our goal,” said trump.
His words are in many ways contrary to the January statements by U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson on this topic. The chief U.S. diplomat last month, has explicitly recognized that the United States plans to maintain a military presence in Syria after the defeat of ISIS. In this regard, Tillerson urged citizens to be sensitive to the prospect of continued U.S. involvement in the military campaign in Syria for some time. US forces are in Syria illegally, they have no mandate of the UN Security Council, nor the invitation of the legal authorities in Damascus.
