Scientists have determined the impact on people social networking

American scientists from the University of Kansas found that, contrary to popular belief, social Internet network do not affect the usual communication between people and do not alienate the person from friends and family.

The study is published in the scientific journal Information, Communication & Society.

The researchers conducted two experiments. First, they analyzed data on the behavior of young people in 2009 and 2011. It turned out that the development of social networks that occurred between the two measurements did not affect the amount of time spent by young people on the live chat.

The second experiment was conducted in 2015. We selected 116 people, half of the group were students, and half have graduated from University. They were constantly asking about everyday communication and use of social networks. It turned out that the correspondence in social networks does not affect the contacts, their communication with friends and family.
