Fancy Bears the hackers stole the data of employees of the defense sector in the US
Moscow. 7 Feb. INTERFAX.RU — a Group of hackers, which the U.S. identified as associated with Russia, was able to access the data of employees of large technology companies collaborating with the Ministry of defense, said on Wednesday Agency Associated Press.
According to the AP, we are talking about the hacker group Fancy Bears, which in the US are considered close to the leadership of the Russian Federation and accused of interfering in the elections of the us President in 2016.
According to the Agency, Fancy Bears gained access to data of the 87 people who worked on military drones, missiles, fighter-stealth, and cloud computing platforms. What information the hackers managed to get, remains unclear. Most of these projects are classified, the Agency said.
Victims of hackers have become as employees of small technology companies and large firms, including Boeing Co., Airbus Group, Lockheed Martin Corp. and General Atomics.
“The program, which was the target (hackers — if) belong among the most advanced and high-tech (and also important — if) working on them people,” — quotes AP words of the former adviser of the Director of national intelligence Charles Sowell.
“If these programs have in some way endangered, then this would harm our competitive advantages and our defense,” he added.
