Scientists told about the connection between mobile phones and cancer
Radiation from mobile phones may be linked to cancer in male rats, the scientists found in the framework of the National program of toxicology, organized by the Ministry of health and social services.
Scientists subjected groups of mice and rats exposed to radio up to nine hours a day. The power level of radiation was between one and a half to six Watts per kilogram of tissue for rats and from 2.5 to ten Watts per kilogram for mice. Experiments with rodents have lasted up to two years. Preliminary results of the study were published on the program website, reviewing will take place in March.
Scientists have noted in male rats involved in the experiment, the occurrence of tumors in the tissues surrounding nerves in the heart. In mice and female rats, this effect was not observed. In addition, in rats there was an increase in the number of cases of cardiomyopathy.
“The power of radio emission and its duration was much greater than those faced by men, often using mobile phones, with the exposed whole body of rodents as a whole,” explained one of the authors of the study John butcher.
He urged not to extrapolate the results of experiments on people before their time.
