The Federal tourism Agency has warned Russians about the measles outbreak in Europe and Ukraine

According to authorities, the most difficult situation is observed in Italy, Romania, Ukraine and Germany.

MOSCOW, January 15. /TASS/. The Federal tourism Agency has warned Russians about the deterioration of the epidemiological situation of measles in Europe and in Ukraine and urged tour operators to inform tourists about the situation. This is stated in the message published on 15 January on the Agency’s website.

“Rosturizm encourages tour operators that implement the tours to these areas, to inform customers about the situation with the incidence of measles. Russian citizens are recommended to consider this information when planning trips,” — said on the Agency’s website.

CPS informed citizens with reference to the European regional office of the world health organization (who / Europe) that in Europe, there is deterioration of the epidemiological situation on measles.

In the period from January to October of last year in Europe, the incidence is three times higher than the levels in 2016. The most difficult situation is observed in Italy, Romania, Ukraine, Germany, said in tourism.

Measles outbreak continues in Ukraine. For 11 months of 2017 was 3382 cases. The main cause of the ongoing outbreak, the Ministry of health of Ukraine considers low routine immunization coverage against measles among children, which by the end of 2016 was less than half of the required amount, specified in the message Department.
