Detained in the United States due to the bad weather the aircraft “Aeroflot” flew to Russia
WASHINGTON, January 7. /TASS/. The aircraft company “Aeroflot”, performing flight SU533 last night (the night of January 7, Moscow time) took off from Washington DULLES international airport DULLES to Moscow. This was reported by the Russian Embassy in the United States.
“Flight SU533 flew from Washington to Moscow. SU539 flight has to depart within the hour. Merry Christmas!” — said in a message posted on Twitter of the Embassy.
Previously, Aeroflot reported that the schedule of several flights departing on 5 January in new York from Moscow airport Sheremetyevo, changes were made, the flights were delayed due to the shutdown of the airport named after John F. Kennedy because of the snow. Two aircraft were forced to go to the alternate aerodrome in Washington.
Later it became known that the company handling the flights of “Aeroflot” in Washington SwissPort could not serve the flights of the Russian carrier, but then she confirmed the possibility of providing their services to these two routes.
As noted, in his turn, Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov, the Embassy was in constant contact with the state Department on this issue, the consular officer provided assistance to Russian citizens in the airport.
