Kiev court denied Saakashvili’s protection
Kyiv court dismissed the former Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili protection.
“The claim to refuse” — the judge decided during a meeting of the court, which was broadcast by Ukrainian media.
Earlier, former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili asked the court to order the migration service of Ukraine to consider granting it the status of a person in need of complementary protection, as the Agency refused.
Currently, a politician who has no citizenship of any country, has a special document allowing him to stay on Ukrainian territory until March 2018.
Previously President of Petro Poroshenko, Saakashvili revoked the citizenship of Ukraine, which makes possible his extradition to Georgia, where he was arrested in absentia.
